Toasted Muffins with Cinnamon Butter – 3 Ingredient Recipe

Christmas is just around the corner and this recipe is a firm family favourite of ours. For as long as I can remember, we would have champagne breakfast on Christmas morning with warm toasted muffins, topped with melted cinnamon butter.

It’s such a quick and easy recipe that I guarantee the whole family will love!

You only need 3 ingredients (not counting the muffins) – yes you heard that right! Just 3! You really can’t mess it up even if cooking isn’t your strong point!

I tend to use granulated sugar in the recipe because I love the crunchy texture it gives, but you can use any kind, if you prefer a darker/molasses flavour – you can use brown sugar. If you prefer a finer and smoother texture then use caster sugar.


Cinnamon Butter Recipe

250g Butter (I use salted but unsalted if fine)

3/4 cups Sugar

2 Tbsp Cinnamon


  1. Cream the butter – I use my KitchenAid for quickness, but this can be done by hand.
  2. 2.Add in the sugar and blend together until well combined.
  3. Add in the cinnamon and mix again until fully combined, making sure there are not lumps.

I transfer my butter to a Kilner jar and refrigerate until needed. The butter can be frozen and will last a few days.

My favourite way to eat this butter is with toasted muffins. I will also pop them into the microwave or oven to make sure the butter is fully melted for a gorgeous caramelised taste. You can also use it on plain toast, pancakes and even waffles!
